The forum was organized by the Belarusian Library Association, National Library, and the administration of the town of Logoisk under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus. Among the conducted events there were: a plenary session, a round table meeting titled, "Technical, Legal, Scientific, and Systematic Regulation of Libraries' Activities," work in the following sections, "Library's Role in Spiritual, Intellectual, and Cultural Development of Personality and Society," "Innovative Activities of Libraries," "Librarian and Interpersonal Communications." Taking part in "Innovative Activities of Libraries" section, RLST representatives delivered two reports.
Over 400 people took part in the Forum. Among them there were librarians from all the regions of Belarus, representatives of the Ministries of Culture and Education of Belarus, the National Center of Legal Information, Belarusian Mail, Belarusian State Culture University, and more.
The forum demonstrated the innovative approach to library science and was a good incentive for the new ideas.
A resolution was elaborated, in which the participants state their ideas on how to improve the development of library field. Forum materials will be accumulated on compact discs.
